KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) Bar Association is holding an election to elect a new executive committee today.
Two panels are contesting the elections.
Senior Advocate Rabi Narayan Khanal is leading the team of progressive, professional , patriotic and inclusive legal practitioners while Senior Advocate Purna Man Shakya is leading the team of broad democratic inclusive (Madhesi, indigenous nationalities) professional legal practitioners.
Khanal is a full-time legal practitioner while Shakya is also involved in teaching apart from legal profession.
As many as 605 legal practitioners are casting their votes in the elections, according to Raju Khadka, chief election officer of Supreme Court Bar Association. The election is scheduled to take place from 8 am to 2 pm.
