KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have reached a four-point agreement to end the disputes within the party.
The high-voltage drama within the ruling NCP calmed down with Prime Minister Oli and NCP Chairman Dahal agreeing to reverse all decisions taken after September 11.
They have agreed to go back to the decision made by the Standing Committee on September 11 and move forward on the basis of the four points agreed on Wednesday at a one-on-one meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
The two leaders have agreed to withdraw all allegations (including the letters/political documents) against one another; withdraw the ordinance related to the Constitutional Council; withdraw the signature campaign to convene a special session of parliament; and Oli-Prachanda presenting a joint proposal in the next meeting of the Standing Committee.
PM Oli and Chairman Prachanda informed the decision at the Standing Committee meeting at Baluwatar.
With this, the heightened crisis in the NCP has eased after PM Oli agreed to withdraw the ordinance on the Constitutional Council, and Chairman Dahal reciprocating to PM Oli’s demand of withdrawing the signatures sent to the President’s Office demanding convening immediate session of the parliament.
Prime Minister Oli and Dahal were engaged in discussions at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar prior to the meeting of the party’s Standing Committee meeting.
In the second one-on-one discussion, Prime Minister Oli agreed to withdraw all the political decisions taken since September 11 along with the ordinance, according to a party source.
Likewise, the two leaders have also agreed to withdraw all charges and allegation against one another.
They have also agreed to dismiss all allegations and disputes after September 11, and withdraw all charges and prepare a new proposal through consensus.
