COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s President Maithripala Sirisena has said he would overhaul state security after several bomb blasts on Sunday killed 359 people wounding over about 500.
President Sirisena claimed warnings had not been shared with him. He said stern action would be taken to those who failed to share the information to him.
Likewise, Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe claimed the Islamic State (IS) group may be linked to the incident.
Meanwhile, funerals are continuing across the country.
Reports have said IS has already claimed the attack, even though it has not provided any direct evidence of its involvement.
The death toll saw another rise with police giving the latest figure as 359 on Wednesday. (Agencies)
