Nemwang urges Prachanda to avert party split

Prachanda "positive"

KATHMANDU: In what can be said as a continued effort to narrow down differences between two Chairmen of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), the party’s Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Subhas Nembang urged Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to play a vital role to resolve the existing crisis in the party.

Nemwang reached Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar this morning and urged the latter to save the party from split.

Nemwang said there was no alternative to consensus between Dahal and Prime Minister KP Oli and reiterated his urge to keep the party intact.

He also said since all NCP leaders and cadres are in favor party unity, Dahal and Oli should work in tandem to take the party forward.

Nemwang also referred to the ongoing pro-monarchy demonstrations saying that it is high time that Dahal and Oli remained together by keeping the party unity intact to avert any unfortunate circumstances.

Former Speaker Nemwang, meanwhile, said Prachanda listened to him and seemed positive to his proposal.

Dahal and PM Oli are at odds of late blaming one another for inviting party crisis.
