NC President Deuba calls emergency CWC meeting



KATHMANDU: President of main opposition Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an emergency Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting.

Deuba who returned home after holding a meeting on appointments in constitutional bodies with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Friday evening has called the emergency meeting on Saturday morning. The meeting is taking place at the central party headquarters. It started at 10 am.

According to Deuba’s secretariat, Prime Minister Oli has urged main opposition leader Deub to help sort out the issues related to appointments in the constitutional bodies saying that he did not get cooperation from within his own party.

“Prime Minister Oli urged Nepali Congress President Deuba to extend cooperation on the appointments in constitutional bodies saying that he did not get help from his own party due to intra-party feud,” said Deuba’s secretariat.

Deuba came out of the meeting with Oli expressing his commitment that he would give the latter a decision following a meeting with his party.

Prime Minister Oli has called a meeting of the Constitutional Council at 9 am tomorrow without consultation with NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
