Truck rams into eight vehicles at Kalanki, one killed



KATHMANDU: A man was killed after being hit by a truck at Kalanki on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Shankar Pariyar, 30, of Okhaldhunga.

He died on the spot when the truck, Province 2-03001 Kha 1420, rammed into vehicles on the road, police said.

Six persons including the truck driver were injured in the accident and have been taken to Vayodha Hospital for treatment, said Police Inspector Purushottam Karki at Metropolitan Traffic Police Sector, Kalanki.

Chief of the Traffic Police Division, SSP Janak Bhattarai, said that the truck coming from Thankot to Kalanki hit eight other vehicles after a brake failure.

The truck also hit a house near the road damaging it.
