Nepal’s COVID-19 tally hits 238,861 with 1,272 new cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,272 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 238,861 with fresh cases as of Friday afternoon.

A total of 1,575 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 221,847 in the country.

Nepal currently has 15,447 active cases.

Likewise, 537 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as 16 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,567, the Ministry confirmed.

Meanwhile, a total of 382 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and ventilator support.

A total of 328 patients are in ICU and 54 on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 26 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, eight in Province 2, 122 in Bagmati Province, 81 in Gandaki Province, 75 in Lumbini Province, nine in Karnali Province, and seven in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of eight in Province 1, one in Province 2, 31 in Bagmati, nine in Gandaki Province, three in Lumbini, and two in Sudurpaschim Province are on ventilator support.
