NEPSE suffers double-digit fall

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined by a double-digit on Thursday. NEPSE had been continuously setting new records.

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index fell by 15.57 points to 2055.45. Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which measures the trading volume of large companies, declined by 3.76 points to 392.29.

The transaction amount is over Rs 8 billion today even though the NEPSE index declines. A total of 15,889,560 shares of 200 companies were bought and sold at a price of Rs 8 billion. The market is said to have declined today as investors began to book profits.

Of the total 12 sub-indices traded, shares of two sub-indices rose while shares of 10 sub-indices declined.

Hydropower increased by 10.36 points and microfinance by 30.08 points. Banking 8.73, Trade 160.42, Hotel 8.35, Development Bank 20.35, Finance 6.73, Non-Life Insurance 166.41, Manufacturing 72.96, and Others by 19.31.

Life Insurance declined by 258.26 points and Collective Investment fund by 0.05 points.
