Former Home Minister Nain Bahadur Swar passes away



KATHMANDU:  Former Home Minister Nain Bahadur Swar has passed away on Thursday morning. He was 95.

According to family sources, Swar passed away at his own residence in Baneshwor, Kathmandu this morning.

Swar had been undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on November 1. He was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday evening after he recovered from the virus few days ago.

He is being cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat as per the Hindu tradition today itself, said his family sources. He is survived by his two sons and four daughters.

He had become Home Minister under the premiership of Surya Bahadur Thapa in 2038 BS and under the leadership of Marich Man Singh Shrestha in 2043 BS.
