Two held for blackmailing by hacking Facebook account

KATHMANDU: Bara Police has arrested two individuals on the charge of blackmailing a woman by hacking her Facebook account.

The arrested are 31-year-old Ramdev Sah of Sitapur rural municipality-3, Saptari and Manisha Giri, 23, of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-4, Sunsari.

According to police, Sah and Giri had blackmailed the woman of Jitpur Simara Sub Metropolitan City-2, by threatening that they would post her naked images if he did not send them Rs 30,000.

Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim, police had started investigating the case.

In the course of investigation, police nabbed the fraudsters while they were withdrawing the amount deposited by the victim from IME based at Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-6, Itahari Bazaar.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking them on a five-day remand from the court.
