Kathmandu DAO urges not to hold meetings, demonstrations



KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu has urged people not to hold rallies, processions and demonstrations in the city.

Issuing a statement today, the DAO has urged people not to get involved in such crowded activities as the coronavirus epidemic is still rampant in the Valley.

“Lately, there have been reports of political and other activities such as rallies, processions, demonstrations and campaigns in Kathmandu. The DAO urges all to refrain from such activities and to help in the prevention of the epidemic,” the statement said.

The DAO has also warned that action will be taken according to the Local Administration Act 1971 and Infectious Diseases Act 2020 if people continued with such activities.
