396 local units to have 15-bed hospitals



KATHMANDU: The government is set to build 15-bed hospitals in 396 local units in the current fiscal year.

Of them, hospital buildings are being inaugurated in 250 local units today itself.

Earlier, the government in its policy and program had mentioned that it would build 5 to 15-bed basic hospitals in the local units across the country.

Currently, out of 753 local units, only 104 local units have hospitals.

The government is planning to establish 15-bed hospitals in the remaining 649 local units in the next two years, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population.
