‘Boko Haram’ kills at least 110 farmers in Nigeria

ABUJA: At least 110 were killed in an attack on a village carried out by terrorist outfit called ‘Boko Haram’ in north-east Nigeria, The Guardian reported.

“At least 110 civilians were inhumanely killed and many others sustained critical injuries in this attack,” UN humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria Edward Kallon said in a statement.

The attack took place in the village of Koshobe near the main city of Maiduguri, with assailants targeting farmers on rice fields.

The assailants tied up the agricultural workers and slit their throats, according to a pro-government anti-jihadist militia.

The victims were among laborers from Sokoto State in north-west Nigeria, about 1,000 km away, who had travelled to the north-east to find work, according to the reports.
