KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla is paying an official visit to Nepal on November 26-27, Foreign Ministries of Nepal and India have said.
Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said Foreign Secretary of India, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, is paying a two-day official visit to Nepal from November 26 at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal.
According to the MoFA, the visit is in continuation of regular exchange of high-level visits between the two countries.
Meanwhile, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said Foreign Secretary Shringla’s visit to Nepal is in keeping with the tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal and the priority India attaches to its relations with Nepal.
MoFA has said the foreign secretaries of Nepal and India will hold a bilateral meeting and discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries on the first day of Shringla’s visit.
“The same day the foreign secretary of India is scheduled to call on the high level dignitaries of Nepal,” a MoFA statement said adding, “Secretary Shringla will hand over Covid-19-related support to Nepal.”
He will return to New Delhi on November 27.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs, meanwhile, said that the visit will be an opportunity to further advance bilateral ties.
