Lalita Niwas land scam: Ex-Minister Joshi released on general date



KATHMANDU: Former Minister Chandra Dev Joshi charge-sheeted for his alleged involvement in Lalita Niwas land grab scam has been released on a general date.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case at Special Court in Kathmandu against 175 people including Joshi for the scam in which the government’s land was transferred into the name of individuals.

Joshi had appeared before the court on Monday for a statement.

The anti-graft body has accused that the then Minister for Land Management Joshi had taken the proposal before the Cabinet for transferring the land in the name of individuals.

CIAA had filed the case accusing him of embezzling Rs 70 million.
