Prime Minister Oli in Shital Niwas to meet President Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has reached Shital Niwas to meet President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

PM Oli met with the President prior to holding an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers and the scheduled Secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Ministers this afternoon.

President Bhandari had met NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday evening.

It is learnt that she suggested Prachanda to convene the Secretariat meeting after forging a consensus with PM Oli.

According to sources, Prime Minister Oli wants to postpone today’s Secretariat meeting.

PM Oli has called an emergency cabinet meeting as the majority of the Secretariat members are in favor of holding the meeting.

For some time now, internal disputes have erupted in the NCP.

Earlier, the party dispute has escalated after Prachanda submitted a proposal in the Secretariat meeting.

Likewise, PM Oli had also discussed the issue with President Bhandari on Tuesday evening soon after holding talks with Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi.
