KATHMANDU: Vice-Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bamdev Gautam has asked Prime Minister KP Oli to change his perspective and attitude and work sincerely to resolve the conflict that has surfaced in the party lately.
During his hour talk with PM Oli at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar, Vice-Chairman Gautam also held Oli responsible for the ongoing conflict in the party and asked him not to blame others for his mistakes.
According to Gautam’s Press Advisor Vishwo Mani Subedi, Gautam was called by PM seeking his help in the resolution of the ongoing crisis at the party.
“PM and NCP Chairman Oli had called Vice-Chairman Gautam to discuss the ongoing crisis in the party; in the meeting, Vice-Chairman told PM Oli that he had to change his way of treating others and should abide by the party decisions,” Subedi narrated Gautam’s statement, “Gautam told him that things would go normal provided the PM changed his behavior.”
In its recent hearing on Gautam related case, Supreme Court had said that Gautam, despite his defeat in the election for the member of federal parliament, could be held eligible to attain any key post in the Cabinet.
NCP source claimed that Oli had tried to woo Gautam by offering the post of first Deputy Prime Minister which the latter defied.
Earlier, PM Oli had called Gautam and another senior leader of the Party Madhav Kumar Nepal and tried to strengthen his hold in the Party Secretariat; yet due to the refusal of Nepal and Gautam, the attempt did not materialize on Friday as well.
According to the party sources, both leaders had asked the PM to change his attitude lest the party did not meet further trouble ahead.
