‘KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has urged COVID-19 infected people staying in home isolation not to take medicine randomly.
Speaking at the regular press briefing on Wednesday, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the Ministry has requested patients take medicines only on the recommendation of doctors and health worker as taking medicines randomly can have negative impact on the health.
He said, “Those who have been infected with coronavirus and are staying in home isolation have been found to have taken various medicines in consultation with those who have recovered from coronavirus infection without consulting a doctor or health worker.”
Dr. Gautam urged doing creative things in home isolation that he could do in a room what he liked to do.
He added, “Do not forget to read books and magazines, listen to the news, listen to songs, watch movies.”
He advised patients to take healthy food in sufficient quantity as one needs immunity to fight against infection.
He also urged all family members to use masks, maintain physical distance and stay clean if any family member is infected and is in isolation at home.
