Former Speaker Mahara’s wife dies from COVID-19 infection



KATHMANDU: Former Speaker and member of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara’s wife Sita Mahara has died from the coronavirus.

She was undergoing treatment at Norvic International Hospital after being diagnosed with the virus.

She was admitted to Dang-based Gorkah Hospital on October 29 after she suffered from minor illness during her visit to home district Rolpa, Mebang on Dashain.

After being diagnosed with pneumonia and respiratory complications, she was airlifted to Kathmandu on October 30.

She was being treated on ventilator since October 31 after her PCR test conducted at Norvic Hospital came out positive.

She died at 6:25 am today, according to the hospital administration. She had been suffering from a disease called myasthenia for the last 10 years.
