3,114 cases propel Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 179,614



KATHMANDU: As many as 3,114 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 has reached 179,614 with fresh cases as of Tuesday afternoon.

Altogether 11,166 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

A total of 3,142 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 141,134 in the country.

Nepal currently has 37,476 active cases.

Likewise, 1,277 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

A total of 372 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 68 have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 36 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, 10 in Province 2, 182 in Bagmati Province, 86 in Gandaki Province, 47 in Lumbini Province, five in Karnali Province, and six in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of 15 in Province 1, 39 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki Province, four in Lumbini Province, and two in Sudurpaschim Province are on the ventilator support.

As many as 20 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,004, the Ministry confirmed.
