Male rhino dies in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A male rhino died at Lamichaur area of Chitwan National Park on Sunday.

According to the Chief Conservation Officer of Chitwan National Park Ananath Baral, the rhino of around 30 to 35 years died of old age. It is said that the rhino’s horn and hoof are kept safely.

With this, nine rhinos died of natural causes so far in this fiscal year. Last year, a total of 26 rhinos had died of natural causes.

With the increased number of deaths due to natural causes, the National Park has formed a committee to study the deaths of the endangered animal.
