COVID-19 infected Mechinagar mayor taken to Siliguri for treatment



JHAPA: Bimal Acharya, mayor of Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa, who was infected with COVID-19, was taken to Siliguri, India on Tuesday evening for further treatment after he was diagnosed with lung problems.

Acharya, who was diagnosed with corona infection on October 14, was taken to Siliguri, India for further treatment.

For the first few days after the infection was confirmed, Mayor Acharya stayed in home isolation. However, he was admitted to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar due to health problems.

Since then, his health has not improved significantly. Acharya could not even feel comfortable in the hospital.

According to Acharya’s press coordinator Laxmi Upreti, the health of the chief Acharya could not be improved as the doctors did not treat him on time.
