Karnali Academy of Health Sciences unveils new academic calendar



KARNALI: Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Teaching Hospital, Jumla has made public its academic calendar for the upcoming year.

This was made public amid a function organized today here by the KAHS on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

On the occasion, KAHS Rector Dr Niresh Thapa shared that the KAHS has received approval from the government to run master’s level programs for five seats.

Stating that the Academy has been accredited as a university, he said that preparations were underway to run the MBBS programs in the next academic season.

“A meeting chaired by Prime Minister and Chancellor of KAHS KP Sharma Oli provided a nod to run the programs of MD in general practice and emergency medicine (three seats), MD anesthesia and critical care (one seat), MD orthopedic and trauma surgery (one seat).

Classes will run soon. Likewise, Bachelor’s of Nursing, Bachelor’s of Pharmacy and Bachelor’s in Clinical Nutrition programs will also be run,” he said.

The government on August 14 provided permission to the KAHS to run master’s in medical education.

According to the report of the academic calendar, 264 students were enrolled under reservation quota between 2071 BS and 2076 BS.

The Academy has enrolled 518 students for staff nurse, health assistant, diploma in pharmacy, bachelor’s of public health and bachelor of midwives.
