269 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in ICU, 87 on ventilator

KATHMANDU: As many as 269 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment in intensive care unit (ICU) and 87 are receiving health care on ventilators.

Speaking at the regular press briefing organized by the Ministry of Health and Population on Wednesday evening, spokesperson Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam informed that  31 patients in Province 1, nine in Province 2, 152 in Bagmati Province, 20 in Gandaki, 47 in Lumbini, seven in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim are receiving treatment in ICU on Wednesday.

He further said that 16 people in Province 1,  one in Province 2 and 59 in Bagmati Province are being treated on ventilators today.

Likewise, four in  Gandaki Province, five in Lumbini and two in Province 2 are undergoing treatment on ventilator as well.

On Tuesday, 273 coronavirus patients were reported to be receiving treatment at ICU and 78 on ventilators against the pandemic.

According to the Ministry, Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kavre, Makwanpur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Kaski, Bhaktapur  and Dang have more than 500 active cases now.

Similarly, Dang, Banke, Kailali, Surkhet, Dadeldhura and Rupandehi  also have more than 500 cases as well.

Dr. Jageswor Gautam added that  the only district without any active cases now is Mustang.
