KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has made it clear that the new curriculum for Grade 11 has come into effect from the current fiscal year.

The clarification was made after the enforcement of the new curriculum became uncertain with the disagreement of the Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN).

Under Secretary at the Ministry, Bidur Raj Giri issued a statement here today starting that the new curriculum has come into effect with the enforcement as per the National Curriculum Framework of School Education 2076, and the assessment of the students will also be based on the new curriculum.

There have been complaints that some schools are carrying out teaching and learning activities through the old curriculum.

In the curriculum, social studies and life skills education is a new compulsory subject. Meanwhile, the ministry has urged the local level to monitor the status of enforcement of the new curriculum.
