Police recover 22.5 kg gold from apartment in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ: Police have recovered 22.5 kilograms of gold from Birgunj in Parsa district on Saturday afternoon.

Police raided Ganesh Apartment located at Resham Kothi in Birgunj Metropolitan City-6 and recovered the gold in a huge quantity.

A team led by SP Ganga Pant of District Police Office, Parsa recovered 22.567 kilograms of gold that was concealed in a blue plastic bag.

DIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Police Chief of Province 2, said that the law enforcement agency raided the apartment on the basis of a tip-off.

Ashok Sinha, an Indian national, had been living in the rented apartment.

Police said that no arrest has been so far made, adding that a further investigation was underway.
