NHRC makes pubic names of 286 human rights violators (with list)



KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has made public the names of people who have violated human rights on different occasions.

The commission on Thursday released the names of 286 human rights violators.

The names of the human rights violators have been made public by announcing the report of the commission including the review of the work done by the commission in the last 20 years.

The commission has made public the names of those involved in human rights violations at different times, including the armed insurgency by the then Maoists.

Of the 286 human rights violators named by the commission, 16 are civil servants, 98 are Nepal Police, 85 are Nepal Army, 8 are Armed Police, 8 are then the then CPN Maoist, 65 are teachers, 2 are doctors, one is a human rights activist and 7 others.

In the meantime, the situation of 1,195 human rights violators recommended by the commission has also been mentioned. Out of them, 779 are from the state, 287 from the then CPN-Maoist 38 from the government and the Maoist jointly, 23 from the resistance group, 16 from teachers and 52 others.
