KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has given an interim order to the Public Service Commission (PSC) not to implement the criteria for conducting examinations.
The criteria issued by PSC bars coronavirus infected examinee to sit for the examinations.
Hearing the writ petition filed by the Human Rights Network, a single bench of Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla ordered not to implement the criteria.
The commission had issued criteria for conducting and managing the examination, stating that people infected with COVID-19 and living in isolation will not be allowed to take the examination.
To appear for the commission’s examination, the candidates will have to declare themselves infected or not.
This standard shall be followed in the matters related to health security even while conducting the examinations, interviews, group discussions, presentations, etc., related to the experimental / skill test conducted by the commission.
The commission had also stated that action would be taken as per the existing law.
