Rs 280 million allocated to purchase 52 ventilators, 130 ICUs in 13 hospitals

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has allocated Rs 280 million for 13 hospitals in the combat against coronavirus.

A total of Rs. 280 million has been allocated to Dhankuta Hospital, Panchthar Hospital, Salarhi Hospital, Gaur Hospital, Nuwakot Hospital, Dhading Hospital, Damauli Hospital, Kapivastu Hospital, Arghakhanchi Hospital, Mahakali Hospital, Tikapur Hospital, Kalikot Hospital and Salyan Hospital.

Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at Ministry informed that the amount is allocated for the purchase of 52 ventilators and 130 ICUs in these hospitals.

Likewise, the Ministry has stated that 15 ICUs have been sent to six hospitals.

Koshi Hospital, Narayani Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital, Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, Bheri Hospital and Dadeldhura Hospital have been sent 15-bed ICUs with five ventilators, according to the ministry.

One ventilator has been sent to each of the six hospitals. Similarly, the ministry has also allocated Rs 30 million to these hospitals.
