Closed industries at Hetauda industrial area resume

KATHMANDU: All industries at the Hetauda industrial area that were closed for long due to COVID-19 pandemic have resumed.

However, they are yet to come into operation full-fledged, said Hetauda Industrial District Management Office (HIDMO).

There are 111 industries operating at the area and approximately 10,500 people have got jobs at the industries directly or indirectly.

“Some entrepreneurs have applied for lands, electricity and water to establish new industries.

Nepal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd has been sent a letter requesting for approval in this regard,” said Rajendra Shrestha, administrative officer at the HIDMO.

Established in 1963, the industrial area spanning around 1,885 ropanis of land has an investment of approximately Rs 6.4 billion (around 5.5 billion from private sector and the remaining from the government).
