Kathmandu Valley witnesses 1,403 cases in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley witnessed as many as 1,403 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the Valley reported 996 cases in Kathmandu, 305 in Lalitpur and 102 in Bhaktapur.

Prof Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population informed that the country witnessed 2,638 cases throughout the country.

With this the country coronavirus case tally has reached 1,17,996 till today.

According to Dr. Gautam, 2,174 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 80,954 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 68.6 percent, he added.

Nepal currently has 36,367 active cases, he said.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 14,819 people are in institutional isolation and 21,548 others are in home isolation facilities.

Likewise, 4666 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Similarly, he said that 305 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU beds.

Likewise, 12 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the tally of coronavirus caused deaths in the country to 675, the Ministry confirmed.
