Chapakot Municipality office closed except for urgent services



KATHMANDU: The office of the Chapakot Municipality in Syangja district has been shut down except for essential services after 14 people tested positive for the Coronavirus in a single day on Tuesday.

To curb the spread of COVID-19 at community level, the Municipality took the decision towards this end. The Municipality has urged one and all to remain alert and aware and remain safe from the flu-like infection.

Among the fresh 14 cases of COVID-19 reported on Tuesday, 10 were reported in men and four in women.

Among the infected ones, one was availing treatment in Pokhara while rest others were receiving treatment at local health facility, informed District Health Office Chief Yam Prasad Sharma.

Mayor Shiva Kumar Giri, in a press statement issues today, has appealed all the public to adopt all the precautionary measures against the deadly infection.

Also, it was shared that the municipality was coordinating efforts with the state and federal government for the prevention, control of COVID-19 as well as to treat the infected ones. The Municipality office is closed until further notice.

Shops selling food items, pharmacies and health facilities would only remain open during this period, read the statement. RSS
