Top US diplomat Stephen Biegun to visit India



NEW DELHI: US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen E. Biegun is arriving in India on October 14 for a two-day visit, ahead of the India-US 2+2 ministerial meet.

Beigun will be meeting with government officials and also deliver a keynote remarks at the India-US Forum.

According to the US Embassy in New Delhi, Biegun’s engagements in India will “focus on advancing the United States-India Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership” and how both the countries can work together to advance peace, prosperity, and security in the Indo-Pacific and around the globe.

It may be noted that US Secretary Michael Pompeo will hold talks with Indian Minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar October 6 and ahead of the US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue later this year.

This will be the second dignitary visit from the US in as several months, Indian media reports have said.
