IPL2020:  Delhi defeats Rajasthan by 46 runs



KATHMANDU: Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane-involved Delhi Capitals has climbed atop the points tally by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 46 runs in the cricket match held under the Indian Premier League in the UAE on Friday night.

Held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan Royals was all out for 138 runs in 19.4 balls while chasing the target of 185 runs set by Delhi.

Rajasthan’s Rahul Tewatia top-scored with 38 runs, YBK Jaiswal, SPD Smith and JC Buttler  contributed 34, 24 and 14 runs respectively.

To restrict Rajasthan to paltry 138 runs, Delhi’s K Rabada took three wickets while R Ashwin and MP Stoinis grabbed two wickets each.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Delhi notched up 184 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs.

Delhi’s SO Hetmyer top-scored with 45 runs off 24 balls, MP Stoinis made 39 runs while captain SS Iyer contributed 22 runs including four wickets off 18 balls.

In reply, Rajasthan’s JC Archer claimed highest three wickets of Delhi while Kartik Tyagi, AJ Tye and R Tewatia took one wicket each.

With the win, Delhi is in the sixth position with 10 points. This is Delhi’s 5th win. Rajasthan is in the seventh position with four points.
