Province 2 witnesses three COVID-19 deaths, 43 new cases



JANAKPURDHAM: Province 2 has seen three deaths and 43 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to Bijay Jha, the Acting Director of Province Health Directorate of Province 2, with 3 COVID-19 related deaths of Friday, the province has seen 147 deaths till now.

He informed that a 70-year-man of Rajbiraj 6, Rajgadh, a 36-year-old man of Rupani, and a 48-year-old female of Lahan-8 have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Parsa has seen the largest COVID-19 related mortality in the Province.

Jha shared that Parsa has seen 45 COVID-19 related deaths. Among other COVID-19 deaths in the province, there are 19 in Saptari, 18 each in Dhanusha and Bara, 15 each in Siraha and Mahottari, 9 in Sarlahi, and 7 in Rautahat. There had been one COVID-19 death of an Indian national here.

Likewise, the province saw 43 new coronavirus cases today.

According to Acting Director Jha, there have been 12 coronavirus cases in Parsa, 7 each in Rautahat, Bara and Saptari, 5 in Mahottari, 3 in Dhanusha and 1 case in Siraha in the last 24 hours.

With this, the number of cases in the province has reached 14,057 now.

Similarly, with 170 people discharged today, the number of discharged people has reached 11007 today.

There are 2,210 active cases in the province now.
