MTPD hands over 26 stolen motorcycles to owners

KATHMANDU: Traffic Police have handed over 26 motorcycles stolen from different places of Kathmandu Valley to respective owners.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhim Prasad Dhakal at Metropolitan Traffic Police Division handed over the motorcycle to the owners on Friday.

The search for the missing motorcycles and scooters has been continued by mobilizing police in plainclothes even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, said SSP Dhakal.

The Traffic Police has arrested eight people involved in the theft of motorcycles and scooters. The traffic police have found 90 motorcycles and handed them over to the owner since the lockdown was first enforced.

In the current fiscal year 2020/21, MTPD has found 325 missing two-wheelers and handed them over to the concerned owners.

Applications can be submitted by calling hotline number 103 or through ‘Lost Vehicle Application’ after the theft.

The department has appealed to the vehicle users to use extra locks and alarms for the safety of the vehicles.
