KATHMANDU: Talks between the government team and Dr Govinda KC’s representatives have begun at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Singha Durbar.
It may be noted that the government on Wednesday formed a team to hold talks with Dr Govinda KC, who is staging a fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
Members in the government’s team include include Dr Gopi Mainali, Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology, Dr Gunaraj Lohani, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Health and Population and Dilip Sharma, Director at Medical Education Commission.
Likewise, a four-member talk team has also been formed from the side of Dr KC with members including Dr Jiwan Chhetri, Dr Anjani Kumar Jha, Dr Lochan Karki and advocate Om Prakash Aryal.
Dr KC, who is on the 25th day of his 19th fast-unto-death at the TUTH started his hunger strike calling for implementation of his past agreements reached with the government.
Campaigner for reforms in the medical sector in Nepal, Dr KC has said he would not break his hunger strike this time until the reliable base is formed for the implementation of his past agreements.
