Bharatpur Metropolitan City closed today



CHITWAN: The Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Chitwan has been closed for a day on Wednesday.

The office remained closed to mourn the death of Him Bahadur Piya, the former mayor of then Bharatpur Municipality, Bharatpur Metropolitan City’s according to administrative officer Prem Raj Joshi.

The metropolis stated that all offices under it would remain closed on Wednesday.

Mayor Renu Dahal paid tribute to the late Piya and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

Piya had contributed significantly for the development of Bharatpur as the Pradhan Pancha (Chair) of then Narayangadh Gaun Panchayat and as the pro-public mayor of Bharatpur municipality in 2042 BS.
