Govt’s arrogance caused vandalism in Province Assembly: NC

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has said that an unpleasant situation was created in the Province Assembly on Monday due to the provincial government’s short-sightedness and arrogance.

Speaking at the beginning of the Province Assembly meeting on Tuesday, NC Parliamentary Party leader Birendra Kumar Kanudiya said that the parliament’s chairs and microphone were vandalized when they tried to pass a historic proposal like capital through a fast-track process.

He claimed that the vehicle of Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel was stoned due to the government’s working style.

Kanaudiya claimed that Sher Bahadur Deuba led the government in consultation with the then UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and the then UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, had established Butwal as the province capital.
