BUTWAL: Over 2,000 Nepal Communist Party (NCP) cadres have quit the party over the government’s proposal to relocate the capital of Pradesh 5 to Dang from Rupandehi.

Organizing a press meet on Tuesday morning, leaders and cadres associated with the sister organizations of the NCP in Rupandehi quit the party en-masse.

Those quitting the party include former chairman of Rupandehi Entrepreneurs Association Moti Lal Pandey, Tourism Entrepreneurs Association Chairman Samundra GC, Tourism Entrepreneur Madhav Nepal, among others.

They announced quitting the party arguing that the government moved ahead against the spirit of the people, relocated the capital without any valid reasons and failed to fulfil the commitments made during the elections.
