Local government works halted after its Chair becomes infected with coronavirus



SAPTARI: The Rajgadh rural municipality in the district has halted its administrative works after the rural municipality chair and the coordinator of the agriculture section became infected with coronavirus.

The rural municipality halted its administrative works after both the rural municipality officials tested positive for the virus in the PCR test conducted at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital’s laboratory at Rajbiraj.

Coronavirus infection was confirmed in the 60-year-old rural municipality chairman and the 57-year-old agriculture section coordinator on Sunday.

The rural municipality chairman Parmananda Yadav said all services of the rural municipality except the emergency ones have been closed until further notice.

The Saptari District Health Office said that along with the rural municipality chairman, his son of 40 years and grandsons of 15 years and eight years have also tested positive for the flu-like virus.

Similarly, a 40-year-old driver and the agriculture section coordinator also were found infected with the virus. RSS
