One arrested for duping foreign job aspirants

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for swindling people out of 4.6 million rupees in the name of foreign employment.

A team of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Kathmandu arrested Bhim Bahadur Tamang, who was on the run after committing a fraud.

Tamang, 28, of Balefi rural municipality-6 of Sindhupalchowk, has been arrested from a Bouddha stupa.

A complaint had been lodged with the polilce alleging that he had swindled Rs 4.65 million out of many Nepali foreign job aspirants including Srijana Dong by promising them lucrative jobs abroad.

The court had sentenced him to one year and six months in jail along with a fine of Rs. 1,50,000.

Earlier, Tul Bahadur Tamang, another fugitive defendant in the same case,  had been arrested by the team from Dilli Bazaar on October 2.
