Province 2 sees two more deaths; 1,209 recoveries in 24 hours



JANAKPURDHAM: Province 2 saw two more death cases from the coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours.

According to Bijay Jha, Senior Public Health Administrator, of Province Health Directorate of Province 2, a 75-year-old woman of Bardibas-3, Mahottari and a 58-year old-man working as health worker in Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality have died in last 24 hours making the coronavirus death toll in the province 131 till date.

He informed that the province has seen 43 death cases in Parsa, 18 in Bara, 16 in Dhanusha, 15 in Mahottari, 14 in Saptari, 12 in Siraha, 6 each in Rautahat and Sarlahi and 1 case of Indian national till  date.

Similarly, 1,209 people have been discharged after recovery from coronavirus in past 24 hours. With this, the number of discharged cases has become 9,945 by now.

Jha added that many people in home quarantine have also recovered and the province directorate is still collecting the details of such people.

Province 2 witnessed 49 fresh cases of coronavirus in last 24 hours.

According to Province Health Directorate, there have been 24 new cases of coronavirus in Parsa, 6 in Saptari, 5 in Siraha, 3 each in Dhanusha, Mahottari and Sarlahi and 1 each in Rautahat, and Bara during this period.

A total of cases are said to be from outside the province.

With this, the number of coronavirus infection cases in Province 2 has reached 13,478 till date.
