1,513 diagnosed COVID-19 positive, Nepal’s caseload reaches 76,258

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 1,513 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

As many as 731 infected ones fully recovered from the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the tally of coronavirus infected has reached 76,258 in the country, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said in a daily press briefing this afternoon.

According to the Ministry of Health, the infection has been confirmed in one person in Ilam, two in Udayapur, one in Okhaldhunga, nine in Jhapa, two in Tehrathum, one in Bhojpur and 101 in Morang.

Similarly, there are 32 cases from Sunsari, 10 from Dhanusha, 23 from Parsa, four from Bara, two from Mahottari, five from Saptari, six from Sarlahi and eight from Siraha.

The coronavirus has been confirmed in 747 people from Kathmandu, 13 from Kavre, 62 from Chitwan, four from Dhading, four from Nuwakot, 73 from Bhaktapur, six from Makwanpur, one from Ramechhap, 114 from Lalitpur, one from Sindhupalchowk, three from Sindhuli, 16 from Kaski and two from Gorkha.

Likewise, 15 from East Nawalparasi, two from Syangja, 18 from Kapilvastu, two from Gulmi, 11 from Dang, 11 from Nawalparasi, five from Palpa, 19 from Bardiya, 41 from Banke, 41 from Banke, 95 from Rupandehi, one from Rolpa, one from Rukumpaschim, 1 from Kanchanpur, one from Kanchanpur, 27 from Dadeldhura and seven people from Baitadi have been found positive.

He shared that the country now has altogether 20,396 active cases of coronavirus disease.

Likewise, Dr. Gautam said that 9,689 individuals are in institutional isolation facilities while 10,707 individuals are in home isolation, and 5,778 people are in quarantine facilities across the country.

Of the active cases, 213 patients are receiving treatment in ICU and 34 are in ventilators.

According to the Ministry of Health, 16 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, 18 in Province 2, 110 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki Province, 44 in Province 5, 17 in Karnali Province and two in Sudurpaschim Province.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Gautam also said that five in Province 1, 26 in Bagmati, two in Province 5 and one in Sudurpaschim Province are on the ventilator support.

It is said that 10,891 RT-PCR tests were carried out in various laboratories across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 55,371 have recovered so far.

Similarly, 10 people died of the virus in the past 24 hours. With the recent deaths, the number of coronavirus-caused fatalities has reached 491 in the country.

Gautam further said that Morang, Siraha, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have more than 500 active cases each while Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Manang and Mustang do not have a single active case.
