35-yr-old Indian national dies of physical assaults of hotelier in Nepal

BIRATNAGAR: A 35-year-old man has died being beaten badly by a hotel entrepreneur in Urlabari, Morang.

According to Morang District Police Office Chief Santosh Khadka, Sushil Mallik, 35, has died after being thrashed by Gopal Tamang, 26, the proprietor of Hotel Unique based at Urlabari-7.

SP Khadka informed that Mallik, the inhabitant of Darjeeling, India had been working as a goldsmith in Urlabari area.

The police reported that drunk Mallik had reached to Unique Hotel with his wife and started demanding for more drinks leading to the row between the hotel proprietor and himself. Later when Tamang pushed and punched, Mallik he had become unconscious.

He died Monday night while being taken to Silgadhi for treatment. Nepal police has been trying to bring his dead body back to Nepal and has initiated investigation to sue Tamang on murder charges.
