Balgopaleshwor Temple of Ranipokhari to get spire on Thursday

KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has rescheduled to place a spire on the top of recently reconstructed Balgopaleshwor Temple of Ranipokhari on Thursday.

According to heritage expert Raju Man Manandhar, the program of installing spire on the Balgopaleshwor Temple today was delayed by the slackness of the contractor company.

CM Tulasi Construction JV is involved in the reconstruction of Bal Gopaleswor Temple.

Earlier the temple was rescheduled to be inaugurated on April 24. However, the lockdown imposed to curb the coronavirus pandemic disturbed the schedule then.

It was again scheduled to add spire to the temple today, but due to some technical works not completed on the due date, the ceremony has to be stalled again.

The reconstructed Balgopaleshwor Temple has got few changes. The temple formerly constructed in Granthakut or Shikar Style was changed to Gumbaz style after the earthquake of 1934.

The temple has regained its former style Shikhar after the earthquake of 2015.
