21 Nepalis abroad succumb to coronavirus last seven days

KATHMANDU: As many as 21 Nepalis abroad lost their lives to coronavirus in the last seven days taking the COVID-19 casualty among the Nepalis abroad to 265, according to the NRNA Health Committee.

Chiran Sharma, Press coordinator of NRNA, said the latest deaths were reported from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Uganda.

A total of 38,848 Nepalis living in 42 countries had contracted the flu-like infection till Saturday evening.

Among them 35,078 recovered which is 92 per cent of the total infection.

Similarly, altogether 72,343 Nepalis stranded abroad have been rescued and returned home on a priority basis.

In Nepal, COVID-19 caseload has reached 71,821.

Among them 53,013 have got recovery. The COVID-19 causality in Nepal stands at 467.
