Karnali State Assembly postponed for two months

KARNALI: The Karnali State Assembly has not held any meeting for long owing to the threat of coronavirus.

It has been more than two months the Assembly has not convened since the announcement of annual budget for the current fiscal year.

State Assembly Secretary Jibaraj Budhathoki said the summer session of State Assembly was obstructed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The risk is still prevailing. Some bills are under consideration in legislation committee,” he said, adding that the summer session was especially for budget and it was passed anyway.

He however informed that the Speaker was holding discussion with Chief Minister on the possible dates for the convention of the Assembly after the agreement is made on the bills which are in legislation committee.

The State Assembly secretariat has forwarded discussion to hold meeting by October 18. RSS
