KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed 755 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 609 persons in Kathmandu, 51 in Bhaktapur and 95 in Lalitpur have tested positive for the pandemic virus.
Similarly, 6 persons including 2 females have died of COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley.
A 73-year-old female and 84-year-old male in Bhaktapur, 82-year-old female, 75-year-old, 79-year-old and 80-year-old males in Kathmandu succumbed to COVID-19.
Likewise, A total of 1,497 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the new cases, the caseload of the deadly infection across the nation has totaled 69,301 as of Thursday afternoon.
Among them, the number of active infected ones stand at 18,437.
Ministry’s spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam in a routine press conference today shared that 457 persons were discharged from the hospital upon their full recovery in the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered ones to 50,411.
Similarly, 9,823 persons were currently undergoing treatment at home isolation while 8,614 patients were being treated at the institutional isolation.
He added that 232 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 28 have been put on ventilator support.
A total of 11,449 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far, 955,903 persons have undergone a PCR test in Nepal.
Meanwhile, 17 succumbed to the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 453.
