DPM Pokhrel directs CCMC for preparing effective strategy



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel has directed the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) to prepare a proposal devising effective strategy to respond to the COVID-19 crisis in the country.

DPM Pokhrel instructed for the same after watching the presentation containing the reviews of the works undertaken by the CCMC so far to prevent and control the deadly infection as well as to treat the infected ones.

Likewise, Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rameshwor Raya as well as the office-bearers of the CCMC had collected the recommendations furnished by the representatives of the service providers.

Meanwhile, it was said that the government could enforce a lockdown yet again if the number of active infection cases surpasses 25,000.

Currently, the country records 17,414 active cases of COVID-19. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country stands at 67,804.
